Ingredients

Dulce de Leche

  • 200ml Sweetened Condensed Milk

Alfajores

  • 250g Unsalted Butter
  • 150g All Purpose Flour
  • 225g Cornstarch
  • 50g Sugar

Steps

Dulce de Leche

  1. Remove label on the condensed milk
  2. Put the condensed milk in a large pot
  3. Cover the condensed milk with water (should be always submerged, or it may explode)
  4. Simmer with low heat for 3 hours after water comes to boil (the longer you simmer, the darker Dulce de leche you will get)

Alfajores

  1. Mix the cooled butter with sugar
  2. Sift in cornstarch and flour
  3. Knead to form a dough
  4. Roll the dough between two sheets of parchement paper to 1 cm thick
  5. Cut out rounds using 6 cm cookie cutter
  6. Bake for 10 minutes in 180C
